Progress and Initiatives in our Cooperage

Continuing the momentum started in 2022

In our company, where traditionally male-dominated professions predominate, establishing a gender equality index may seem a daunting challenge; indexes, for the most part, can’t be calculated because they don’t reach the critical calculation size.

However, we are witnessing a notable reversal in the trend, since in 2023 women’s pay rises were proportionately higher than those of their male counterparts. So, continuing the actions of previous years, the cooperage is evolving in this important area.

This underlying trend is also reflected in the many initiatives undertaken within the cooperage this year.

No less than 3 actions were carried out in 2023 to promote equality between men and women.

First of all, a training course on “Equality-Diversity”. Driven by the OENEO Group and deployed at all levels of SEGUIN MOREAU, this training aimed to raise team awareness of the subject through concrete examples, exchanges and a better understanding of the beneficial impacts of more inclusive and egalitarian policies. With a very concrete approach, these training sessions have been appreciated by employees.

At the same time, managers in recruitment situations also benefited from training on the theme of “Recruiting without discrimination”. Here again, the numerous role-playing exercises and concrete examples enabled the management team to fully grasp the issues and stakes involved, and their role in improving “working together”.

Finally, also aware of the importance of equality between women and men when a child arrives, the cooperage also made available during the year an exhaustive guide to the procedures and rights associated with parenthood, offering invaluable support to all our employees, whatever their gender, orientation or professional situation.

Together, as a company, we are making progress towards an environment where everyone, women and men alike, can fully develop their professional lives within our organization, without being limited by gender stereotypes. The Gender Equality Index, and the concrete actions we take, thus become true indicators of our commitment to a fairer, more equitable and more inclusive company for all.
