“At Eclipse Winery, our ambition has never been simply to create another Georgian wine.

Inspired by the Super Tuscan example, we set out to create Super Kakheti, a Georgian wine with world-class aspirations, guided by the belief that quality should always come first. 

We follow the same principles: uncompromising selection of fruit, each component aged separately, blending as a structural choice, and the use of French oak for integration and refinement.

The white blend is still under development, while the red blend is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, aged individually for 12 months in French oak barrels (228L) and 500L puncheons from Seguin Moreau, medium toast. Two Saperavi selections from different Georgian appellations followed the same path, while a third Saperavi was fermented and aged in qvevri, preserving its traditional expression.

Only after this long journey were all elements brought together into the final blend, which then spent an additional six months ageing in specially prepared 500L French oak puncheons that had previously been used once for white wine ageing.

What we value in Seguin Moreau barrels is how the wood integrates into the ageing process. Their consistency in behaviour in the cellar creates a stable framework, essential when working with multiple components and extended ageing.

Each element of the blend evolves with clarity and balance throughout the process, reflecting our approach in the cellar: oak should never dominate terroir, it should help terroir speak more clearly.

The wine will carry the name Eclipse Luna, with its visual identity created by French artist and sculptor Gérard Puvis, whose work exists at the intersection of contemporary art and wine culture. He is known for his collaborations with some of the world’s most iconic wine projects.

This wine is set to become the grand vin of Eclipse Winery.

The first release of Eclipse Luna will be produced in extremely limited quantities as the inaugural vintage of this project, setting the stage for what follows.

Our mission is to demonstrate that Georgia can produce wines that stand alongside the world’s finest, and we continue to explore what this path can become.
