French cooperage Seguin Moreau, French oak barrels making
French cooperage Seguin Moreau. Research and Development in partnership with the Bordeaux Faculty of oenology

Mastering the process

Over 20 years of Research and Development in partnership with the Bordeaux Faculty of oenology

The first cooperage to take an interest in the exchanges between wine and wood, and with the support of professor RIBEREAU GAYON, SEGUIN MOREAU signed a partnership with the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology in 1983. Constantly ahead of progress, the cooperage supported the fundamental research programs currently being carried out by Doctor Valérie LAVIGNE and the researcher Alexandre PONS under the authority of Professor Denis DUBOURDIEU.

SEGUIN MOREAU also finances the work being carried out by Doctor Pascal CHATONNET on research applied to barrel making. Ex student of the Faculty, he currently runs his own laboratory, EXCELL.

Finally, the experiments carried out in collaboration with the oenologists from renowned laboratories and with our customers have confirmed our research. (Michel ROLLAND, Claude GROS) Thanks to these efforts of research and development, SEGUIN MOREAU holds the position of leader, recognized the world over.
